About the Author
Gunnar Heine received his Ph.D. in Communications Technology from the
University of Wilhelmshaven. In 1991, he began his career as a system engineer
of GSM for ALCATEL SEL in Germany. Heine was responsible for the
integration and troubleshooting of the just commissioned GSM systems both
in Germany and internationally. In 1996, Gunnar Heine was sent to the
United States to take over the position of Director of Technical Support
for ALCATEL Mobile Switching. After 7 1/2 years with ALCATEL, he has
returned to Germany and is currently the VP of Technology Management for
HanseNet GmbH in Hamburg.
